Professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya, has published extensively in the field of manufacturing and advises many companies, organisations and governments around the world on matters of industrial policy and strategy. He is also a past member of the UK Council for Science and Technology, the premier advisory body on science and technology issues in the United Kingdom.
In 1998 he was awarded the Mensforth International Gold Medal by the Institution of Electrical Engineers for the outstanding international contribution to manufacturing engineering and management. He has received many international honours and awards. In January 2002 he was awarded the Padma Bhusan by the President of India for services to science, technology and industry.
He was awarded a knighthood, for services to higher education and industry in the 2003 Queen’s Birthday Honours and in June 2004, Professor Bhattacharyya was elevated to the House of Lords, when he was honoured with a peerage and he became, Professor Lord Bhattacharyya of Moseley.
Professor Lord Bhattacharyya is Patron of the UK Manufacturing Excellence Awards having previously chaired the judging panel for many years.
Professor Lord Bhattacharyya has been actively involved in giving lectures and talks on Manufacturing Excellence in Singapore. In 2006, he was on the Dean’s Advisory Board of NUS School of Engineering.

Dr Yoshiyuki Kaneda

Dr Kaneda is the Former Representative Director and the Executive Deputy President of Sony Corporation. He has worked in Sony Corporation since 1957, with a background in electronic devices, production technology and management for globalization. He has also served as executive director for the Economic Federation of Western Japan and special director for the Western Japan Association of Corporate Executives. He is a visiting professor with the Otemon Gakuin University and an honorary professor with the East China University of Science and Technology.
Dr Kaneda has been a strong supporter for Singapore and was instrumental in setting up Sony Precision Engineering (SPEC), Sony Display and Sony Batteries plant in Singapore in the early days.
He was also the panel member of Singapore’s then-National Science and Technology Board from 1992 and 1999 and was a visiting professor with the National University of Singapore from 1997 to 2001. Dr Kaneda has received several awards, including the Industrial Engineering Award from the Japan Management Association, Minister’s award of the science and Technology Agency of Japanese Government and he was also honoured with Singapore’s National Day Award (Public Service Star).

Alberto joined Tetra Pak Brazil in 1997 as Factory Manager in Monte Mor. From 1998, he initiated the building of a brand new WCM concept factory in Brazil and became its factory manager after completion.
In 2001, he was transferred to Modena, Italy, as Director, World Class Operations, with the challenge of rolling out WCM to the whole global Tetra Pak organization.
Alberto was appointed as Cluster Leader Packaging Material Supply Chain S&SEA in 2006 and took on additional cluster responsibility for NEA&O in 2009. Alberto will be leaving Tetra Pak on 30 August 2010 but has indicated that he would continue to stay in Singapore.

Mr F S Wong graduated with an MSC (Financial Management) from the University of London, UK. And subsequently obtained a MBA (Nanyang Fellows/MIT) from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Mr. Wong is also currently serving as an Adjunct Associate Professor with National University of Singapore, School of Design and Environment.
Mr F S Wong started his career in the marine industry 41 years ago and has been with the Keppel FELS for 31 years.
He is now the General Manager for Planning and Control, Quality system and Process Excellence. In the course of his work, Mr. Wong was leading various initiatives that help transform the company’s processes and systems. Prior to his present appointment, he had held various positions, heading different Departments in the company that also saw him setting up and heading subsidiaries of the Keppel FELS, including overseas companies. Mr. Wong had also sat on the board of some of these subsidiary companies during his tenure. His overseas assignments saw him through countries like Vietnam, Brazil and Kazakhstan that now features prominently in Keppel’s stable of companies.
He had served as a Council Member for the Singapore Welding Society and had been a member of the Institute of Industrial Managers, Institute of Marine Engineers, Society of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineers and is a Certified System Engineer with the Institute of Engineers Singapore.

Mr Tan Teik Seng is a veteran in the electronics industry with more than 29 years of experience under his belt. Before retiring from his role as Senior Executive Managing Director at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Singapore earlier this year, he was involved in the production and testing of high-value microprocessors and held key positions in the engineering departments since 1984.
During his tenure at AMD, Mr Tan made significant contributions to the company, providing strategic leadership and management to bring AMD's manufacturing and technical capabilities to a higher level of excellence. He helped reshape the company's direction, transforming AMD Singapore into a Product Development & Manufacturing Equipment Development Centre focusing on high- value engineering and manufacturing work.
Mr Tan was a member of the Expert Committee on Microelectronics which made recommendations to the Singapore government on the future of the microelectronics industry. He was also part of the judging panel for the National Science and Technology Award in 2003.
Mr Tan is currently the Director of HMC Associates, a consulting service provider to the electronics industry. Mr Tan is member of the Board of Director for 02micro International Limited, a Company that designs, develop and market innovative power management and security components and system. Mr Tan also sits on the advisory panel of the Singapore Human Resource Institute and Temasek Polytechnic's School of Engineering. He is also the Chairman of BizLink, a non-profit organisation that provides training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

He also oversees Alcoa's businesses in the Asia Pacific region, with a focus on China and the Australian rolled products businesses and Alcoa’s operations in Russia.
He serves on the board of governors of the International Graduate University in Washington, D.C. on Capitol Hill. He is the former chairman of the Rollers Division of the European Aluminium Association and previously served as a lecturer at seminars on lean manufacturing and continuous improvement in Germany and Austria, along with the Kaizen Institute of Japan, the premier consulting firm on lean manufacturing.
